Being a real Jeeper, we take advantage of every opportunity to get on the road and explore. That exploration often times takes us on unfamiliar roads or trails. Some sort of mapping system is pretty important! While a traditional paper map or atlas can in fact do the trick, why make life harder? Like most folks these days, we use our phones for the convenience of apps that are now available. Most recently we also started to incorporate our iPad since in our younger years we are struggling to see those smaller screens. The challenge has been where to put all of these extras.
Molle Platform Solutions designed a media mount rail just for this purpose. The media rail quickly installs into the Jeep’s dash and comes with all of the required hardware. They do include one (1) Ram mount 1″ ball to get you started, and you will see us install that here. The Ram mount system allows you to use multiple attachments and arms to fit your electronics in the position that is most comfortable for you. The media rail is stable and does not shake or rattle even on the more rough trails. We really love the sleek design of the media rail and that it gives the interior a more rugged appeal.

Cons
- I don’t necessarily have a con for the rail itself, however, I am not a fan of the Ram mount system which is included with the rail. We are in the process of switching out to another option so stay tuned for that video
