Mega Shackles Gears Rating

3 of 5 Gears

We installed these Autobots 3/4″ D Ring Mega Shackles on our friends’ new Jeep this weekend. The install was painless, as you might imagine. The washer proved to do well, although we were doubtful a first. The concern was that the shackles would wiggle and rattle on the bumper, however, with the included rubber washers everything fit into place nicely so there was no unnecessary noise or wear. The rubber C-shaped sleeve was a bit flimsy and we do not anticipate it will hold up very long. Amazon claims that it will hold up to 17,000 pounds working load limit, but we did not get to test this out. This grey-on-black color option worked great on her Rescue Green Jeep Wrangler. Amazon has multiple other color options available which make it easy to accent your vehicle.

Here are some additional specs:

  • Made of steel and is powder-coated to avoid rust
  • Package comes with a set of (2) shackles
  • 17,000 pounds working load limit/ 68,000 pounds breaking strength
