AAF Tank Museum Tour Pictures

I took some of our local Sea Scouts to tour the AAF Tank Museum in Danville, Virginia. When it is too cold to sail the Sea Scouts do all sorts of cool things.

I won’t do justice describing the museum in detail. So, I took a fair amount of pictures to tell the story for me.
Some notes if you plan to stop by:

• Oddly, they have a metal detector at the door and don’t care if you have a concealed carry permit. I usually choose to avoid such places, but this was a Scout trip where I’m not supposed to carry anyway.
• The gift shop and small items museum areas are somewhat climate-controlled… like the weapons room (all machine guns will be auctioned off soon), uniforms, hats, instruments (scopes, aiming devices, etc.), and the welcome video area.
• The rest of the facility has zero climate control. If it is chilly outside, then may be even colder inside. If it is hot outside, it might be hotter inside. So, plan your visit accordingly. Don’t skip it! Just be smart about when you go.
